Hrosma Tiger
A fierce, horned creature which uses the Force to hunt its prey, the Hrosma Tiger was native to the planet Baskarn. The single horn of this beast was used primarily for fighting among individuals, while sharp teeth and claws were used to bring down its prey.

Hssiss/Dark Side Dragons (Click For Picture)
In the 25,000 years that the Jedi have protected the Republic, an endless number of worlds have seen the deaths of their dark side foes, ranging from malignant sorcerers to the Dark Lords of the Sith. The death of a powerful darksider leaves an aura of evil at the scene of his demise. Just as this spiritual taint taxes those who draw on the light side, it is powerful enough to turn the most innocuous animal into a vicious monstrosity after prolonged exposure.
One such localized area of dark energy was the planet Stenness. Four millennia before Palpatine's New Order, Jedi Master Thon an-ived on Stenness and drove what he called a "great darkness" from the surface of the world. He forced this dark energy into geothermal lakes that harbored savage crocodilian predators known as hssiss. Unfortunately, the blight of evil on the land changed the reptiles into something different-something fouler. Spawned from Lake Natth on Ambria, these mutated lizards have a limited ability to influence Force-sensitive beings around them.
Thon continued to train apprentices while corruption festered below the planet's surface. One such student, Nomi Sunrider, used rudimentary Jedi Battle Meditation to protect her daughter from an attack by a pair of hssiss. Around that same time, Jedi historians claim that a Hutt crime lord named Great Bogga transported several hssiss off Stenness. He began to market the offspring as protectors and pets to his colleagues and the occasional dark side adept (Great Bogga even kept one of the creatures as a personal bodyguard). By the time of Palpatine's ascension to the Chancellorship, the hssiss had become prized exotic animals among enemies of the Jedi. Most know them by the more poetic name "dark side dragon."
Despite their mutation by the dark side, the hssiss appear at first glance to be ordinary, if fierce, predatory reptiles. The creature's green, scaly hide covers a 3-meter body built low to the ground. Its long tail adds another meter or so to its body length. Prominent, horned eye crests rise over its bony skull, running into two rows of spikes down the creature's back. Five-to-seven-centimeter-long fangs protrude from both their bottom and top jaws. In the steam lakes of Stenness, hssiss usually hunt in pairs, creeping up on their prey from the nearby waters and grasping it in powerful jaws. The unlucky victim is held firmly in place by prominent canine teeth up to 10 centimeters long, while powerful claws gouge flesh from the victim's body.
These reptilian beasts vary in color from black to mottled dark green and can be found on many worlds throughout the galaxy (though it is not known whether they developed naturally on those planets or were brought there by Sith wizards millennia ago).
Many Sith sorcerors and dark-side devotees keep a pack of Hssiss with them at all times. Jedi scholars who have studied the ways of the Sith believe that these creatures may in some way aid those who call on the dark side of the Force or protect them from discovery by muting the Force emanations produced by their foul wizardry. This theory has led to the nickname "dark side dragons" for the Hssis species.

Jakobeast (Click For Picture)
Jakobeasts are Force-using herd animals that wander the lonely plains of arctic planets along the Outer Rim. Colonists wanted herd animals capable of defending themselves, so they seeded Jakobeasts throughout the region. Now the creatures can be found on hundreds of worlds, even on planets that are currently devoid of humanoid civilization. In these cases, they outlasted the very settlers they were originally intended to feed.
A Jakobeast is a large, shaggy creature roughly the size of a Bantha. Its fine, shining fur has gray and white stripes, granting it camouflage on the tundra. Two thin trunks jut from the mass of hair in its face. Its trunks are extremely strogn and sensitive, used to push aside ice and snow to sniff out the fragile vegetation beneath it.
A Jokobeast's horns are its most dangerous feature. Two elongated black spikes sweep back from the top of the creature's skull. Energy generated by the beast can often be seen rippling along its horns, or even sparking from one beast to the next. The effect is harmless, but the sight of a herd of Jakobeasts wandering the tundra on a moonless night is eerily captivating.
Jakobeasts use their horns to channel the Force and establish dominance within a herd. Collectively, they gather energy to repulse attackers, generating a massive "Force push". When attacked by Wampas or snow-white arctic nighthunters, the herd surrounds its young; then the elder bulls turn outwards to face the threat. Jakobeasts can aid another in generating this Force push, creating a massive amount of pressure at once. Up to four Jakobeasts may aid a fifth one's attempt to use a Force push. After being knocked over a few times, even the hnugriest predator seeks its meal elsewhere.
Domesticated Jakobeasts are used primarily for their meat, milk, and fur, but rarely employed as mounts. In the wild, Jakobeasts are hunted for their horns, which supposedly possess mysterious properties. Poachers typically kill a Jakobeast, steal its horns, and leave the carcass to rot with the spring thaw. Frnigers who depend on Jakobeasts for their own survival on cold-swept planets learn to hate these poachers.

Jubba
A bird native to the planet Dagobah, the jubba bird produces a highly soothing song-whistle that it manipulates via the Force. They were often captured and sold as pets by vendors who sold them for their mesmerizing song. Jubbas were also deceptively intelligent, and often simply "played done" in order to avoid being harrased by ignorant owners. Those Jubba which were sold to appreciative owners sometimes allowed their innate intelligence to show, and became lotal companions.

K'kayeh Dragon
Believed to live on the planet Almas, this legendary reptile was supposedly able to blend into the sand dunes and completely camouflage itself. Many xenobiologists held that the legend of the k'kayeh began with the first visitors to Forard, who noticed that the sand dunes between the open desert and the kaluthin plans seemed to move like snakes. Over the years, the legend of the k'kayeh dragon evolved to the point where many stories claimed that it was a pet kept by Darth Rivan. After the Battle of Naboo, investigators discovered that the k'kayeh dragon was, indeed, a living creature. Its scales were more like armor plating that skin, protecting the creature quite well. Its mouth was filled with teeth of all sizes, many as tall as a Wookiee. The k'kayeh dragon measured more than 200 meters in length, and spent much of its time buried beneath the hot sands. It used its powerful claws to dig through the sand to locate subterranean water sources. While it will eat almost anything it can get its huge mouth around, the k'kayeh dragon subsisted mainly on forfra moss and coboko fish. Further investigation revealed that the k'kayeh dragon was very sensitive to the Force, which lent credence to the rumors of it being part of Darth Rivan's designs. How and why he created the dragon remains a mystery. What was known was that the k'kayeh dragon was immune to many Force-based attacks, and could evade life-form sensors. It could also shoot out Force Lightning from its nostrils when cornered or attacked by Jedi Knights. Many believed that the k'kayeh dragon was not actually "alive," but existed in two universes at once.

Korunnai (Click For Picture)
This was the name of the native human population of the planet Haruun Kal. This people was semi-nomadic, shunning permanent settlements for nomadic tribes known as ghosh, in an effort to avoid being caught in one of the planet's many storms. In this way, they helped ensure their continued survival despite the planet's toxic, gaseous oceans. The Jedi Council believed that a starship transporting Jedi Knights during the Great Sith War crashed on Haruun Kal, and that the survivors were, in fact, the ancestors of the Korunnai. This theory was the primary proposal for the reason behind the fact that all Korunnai could touch the Force. A simpler theory was that the Korunnai evolved over time to use the Force to predict Downstorms; only those with an advantage could survive the waves of toxic gas that accompanied the storms. During the years leading up to the Clone Wars, the Korunnai and their low-country neighbors, the Balawai, were locked in a vicious civil war which became known as the Summertime War. The native Korunnai had been displaced by the offworlders, and fought to maintain their independence. Both sides of the conflict were brutal to their opponents, with a certain amount of "recreational torture" occurring to prisoners before they were executed.

Lambent
This unusual form of plantlife was bio-engineered by the Yuuzhan Vong as a source of light-producing crystals. These crystals were used in a variety of ways, from personal light-sources to the running lights of a worldship. The lambent itself was formed from a base of green, knife-like leaves sprouting from the ground. Growing from the base were three or four stalks, atop which sat hairy, bloodred flowers. The flowers were the size of a human fist, and protected the growing crystal. A Yuuzhan Vong was required to rub and stroke the petals of the flower until they opened, a process which attuned the alien to the flower. Once the petals opened, a yellow bulb could be cut from the plant and hulled, revealing the light-giving, silicon crystal. The crystals could be "turned on" by a Yuuzhan Vong which was attuned to the crystal, and the amount of light it gave off could be regulated by mental contact with the crystal. Like all Yuuzhan Vong constructs, the lambent crystal was alive, transpiring whenever gases were available. Anakin Solo discovered that the lambent crystal he used to replace the stone in his lightsaber gave him a tenuous connection to the Yuuzhan Vong through the Force, but was unable to get more than a sense of presence. Nonetheless, it helped him recognize the presence of Yuuzhan Vong in a given area. After the Battle of Coruscant, the remnants of the New Republic fed false information to the Yuuzahn Vong, claiming that they were trying to grow lambents at the recaptured base on Borleias. The information claimed that the Jedi Knights had been planning to use lambent crystals in the lightsabers, to better attune themselves to the alien invaders.

Leviathan of Corbos (Click For Picture)
This entity was unearthed by the miners who worked to make a living on the desolate world of Corbos. They first found an ancient skeleton, after blasting away at a particularly hard outcropping of rock. This woke the sleeping Leviathan, and it attacked the mining colony with a vengeance. The entire colony was wiped out, but not before the leaders managed to send a distress signal to the New Republic. Leia Organa-Solo asked her brother, Luke Skywalker, to send a contigent of Jedi Knights to investigate. The Levianthan is a huge, crustacean-like beast that stands on two massive legs. It has four smaller, crab-like arms. Its thick head is studded with several horns, and its four blood-red eyes sit atop a mouth studded with razor-sharp teeth. Large fin-like plates ran down the creature's spine. A first creature was defeated by Kyp Durron, who discovered that the Leviathan could trap the Force-energies of its victims in a special nodule near its head. Meanwhile, Kirana Ti, Streen, and Dorsk 82 discovered a huge nest of larval Leviathans in the mining colony's operations center. The death of the first creature awakened an even larger one, and the four Jedi were pushed to their limits in an effort to defeat it. The two creatures, once destroyed, released all the souls of the miners they had killed.

Maelibus (Click For Picture)
The Maelibi (often referred to as "demons") inhabit Iego's core and, for the most part, their existance is only known to the castaways on the planet's surface. Though they are not capable of mind control, those who have seen them still consider them to be even more beautiful than the Diathim. Maelibi are humanoid giants with bodies of shimmering gold and melodic voices that sing a strange language. Approximately once each year, they select victims from among the castaways and carry them underground for consumption. All Maelibi are Force sensitive and are able to project illusions as well as make most beings fear them through use of Force powers.

Marsh Haunt (Click For Picture)
Numerous legends describe Force-using monsters that haunt wild lands far from civilization. The tale of these "Force demons" are wild and usually fictitious. In the case of the marsh haunt, however, these tales have some basis in fact.
The marsh haunt is a bipedal creature with peeling, dull green-gray skin, which gives it camouflage in swamp terrain. Its red-eyed skull is set deeply between its shoulders, making it look like a headless humanoid silhouette. It thrives in swamps but may visit civilized areas to scavenge and bring down small prey. While unintelligent, marsh haunts work together in loose packs of two to eight creatures, some of them using their Force abilities to frighten prey towards others lying in ambush.
Marsh haunts are most common on the world of Abraxin in the Tion Cluster, but they are also found throughout the Mid Rim and Outer Rim.

Midi-chlorian
This species of microscopic organism was known to the Jedi Knights as a symbiotic creature that exists within the cells of every living creature. Life in the galaxy was dependent upon the midi-chlorians, although the exact genesis of the microscopic midi-chlorians was unknown. There was no pattern which dictated the concentration of midi-chlorians in a being's make-up, but a higher count of midi-chlorians in a being's cells allowed them to touch the Force. As the count increased, so did the being's ability to contact and control the Force, but true mastery of the Force could only come from intense concentration and study. Thus, the Jedi Knights devoted themselves to the study and control of the Force, and developed techniques that could detect high concentrations of midi-chlorians in young infants. During the last years of the Old Republic, some Jedi began to believe that the relationship between midi-chlorians and the Force might actually be the opposite of traditional thinking. They believed that the Force created the midi-chlorians, as a way for it to reach out to life throughout the galaxy.

Miraluka (Click For Picture)
Outwardly, Miraluka appear Human. Their size, build, hair, and skin run the gamut of Human varieties. Their speech could be particular to any region from Coruscant to the Outer Rim. Only one aspect distinguishes them: All Miraluka are blind from birth. Where their eyes would have been, Miraluka have nearly featureless non-functioning milky-white eyes that they prefer to cover with decorative cloth. Although they are not entirely concerned with appearing Human, they prefer not to draw attention to themselves when travelling.
The Miraluka's home planet of Alphredies lies in the Abron system at the edge of a giant molecular cloud called the Veil. Unfortunately, none of the standard trade routes pass near Abron, thereby segregating the system and its inhabitants from the rest of the galactic civilization. As a result, the Miraluka (who migrated to Alphredies severla millennia ago when their world of origin entered a phase of geophysical and geo-chemical instability during which the atmosphere began to vent into space) have become an independant and self-sufficient species.
Since the Abron system's red dwarf star emits energy mostly in the infrared spectrum, the Miraluka gradually lost their ability to sense and process visible light waves. During that period of mutation, the Miraluka's long-dormant ability to "see" the Force grew stronger, until they relied on this Force-sight without concious effort.
Gradually the Miraluka settled across the entire planet, focusing their civilization on agriculture so that they requre little in the way of off-world commodities. Though small industrial secrions arose in a few population centers, the most advanced technologies manufactured on Alphredies include only small computers, repulsorlift parts, and farming equipment.
The Miraluka follow an oligarchical form of government in which all policies and laws are legislated by a council of twenty-three representatives, one from each of the planet's provinces. State legal codes are enforced by local constables - the need for a national force has yet to come about.
Few Miraluka leave Alphredies. Most are content with their peaceful lives, and have no desire to disrupt that equilibrium. Over the centuries, however, many young Miraluka have experienced an irrepressible wanderlust that has led them off-planet. Those Miraluka encountered away from Abron usually have a nomadic nature, settling in one area for only a short time before growing bored with the sights and routine.
Rarely is an entire species sensitive to the ebb and flow of the Force, but Miraluka are clearly an exception to the rule. Early in life, a few demonstrate a clear talent for sensing the Force beyond their basic needs.
The Miraluka species epitomizes the pure power of the Force. Not surprisingly, many Miraluka have been drawn to the teachings and traditions of the Jedi Order. Miraluka Jedi fought during the Sith War and helped to shape the Jedi Order in the years and centuries to follow. In the dying days of the Old Republic, the Jedi Order included not only Miraluka Jedi but also scores of Miraluka commoners with little or no formal training, most of them in administrative or teaching positions.
When the Empire arose from the ashes of the Old Republic, the Miraluka suffered tremendously. The Jedi Purge wiped out thousands of Miraluka and forced countless others into hiding. Some Miraluka were inspired to join the Rebel Alliance. A troubled few were pressed into service as pawns and spies for the Empire and either fell to the dark side or destroyed themselves.
By the time of The New Jedi Order, the Miraluka have only begun to rejoin gaactic society, although the threat of the Yuuzhan Vong forces many to travel incognito.
Miraluka have no interest in personal gain or glory. They are thoughtful, pensive, and deliberate. Once they commit to a plan or course of action, they are rarely moved to change their mind.
Miraluka average 1.8 meters tall.
Miraluka speak and read Miralukese and Basic.

Muttamok (Click For Picture)
Muttamoks are slender, 1-meter-tall, fox-faced bipeds with floppy ears and large, soulful eyes. Most of a Muttmok's body, except for its white underbelly, is covered with russet fur. A typical Muttamok is not fully sentient or civilized, though most are clever and dextrous with their small hands. They have been described as similar to Kowakian Monkey-Lizards, but much more appealing. They can also be much more dangerous.
Because Muttamoks have an uncanny attraction to bright, shiny objects, they often steal them to bring back to their lairs. Keys, comlinks, rings, gems, and just about anything they can wrap their narrow fingers around is considered fair game. Once stolen, the items are soon forgotten in the ongoing quest for more interesting loot.
Muttamoks, if caught, have the singular behavious of returning a stolen item in what seems to be a show of remorse and a plea for sympathy. In reality, the creature uses its Force skill to placate its captor. Most "victims" of this ability take the treasure the Muttamok returns before letting it run away. This ability has proved extremely beneficial to the Muttamoks, so much that the residents in some heavily civilized areas consider the Muttamok a creature of good luck, and harming one is taboo. In such cases, the Muttamok population quickly grows to epidemic proportions, and the natives learn not to leave anything lying around where these dexterous creatures can find them.
Muttamoks have no language, though they can be domesticated and trained to follow simple commands. A Muttamok makes an excellent partner for thieves and burglars, since it can slip into areas otherwise unreachable. The feeling that a captured Muttamok "seems to know what you're thinking" is the result of the favourable aura this pest exudes.
Muttamoks eat anything, and they are particularly partial to fruits. Most can be enticed out of their lairs with fruit or sweet candies. However, anyone attempting to capture a Muttamok by this method might be tricked into giving it all his food and letting it go immediately thereafter.

Neti (Click For Picture)
The Neti are a rare species of sentient plants first encountered on the planet Ryyk. (Some call them Ryyk because of the planet's name.) Roughly four thousand years before the Battle of Yavin, a supernova destroyed the Neti's home planet. As a result, Neti have never been a common sight across the galaxy. They have tough gray skin similar to plant bark, multiple thin branching arms, and thick body trunks. Neti foliage tends to be brownish or black and grows on the upper parts of a Neti's body.
As plants, Neti survive through photosynthesis, though they also need some water to survive. Neti are extremely long-lived, with an average life span of several thousand years. A Neti reproduction only occurs once every few centuries. Seeds often remain dormant for more than a thousand years before germinating.
Neti are capable of changing their size and shape, apparantley at will. A skilled Neti can morph its shape into a roughly humanoid solied treelike mass anywhere from 2 to 9.5 meters tall. When resting, Neti generally appear as 5-meter tall treelike objects, but they are capable of maintaining other shapes and sizes, even when asleep or knocked unconscious.
As a resuly of the Neti's infrequent procreation and long lives, their population has always remained small and quite close to their homeworld. When Ryyk was destroyed, only one Neti (Jedi Master Ood Bnar) was known to have been offworld. However, given the species' long life span and germination period, some Neti might have survived the destruction of their world and now await discovery in remote locations.
In fact, Ryyk might not even be the original homeworld of the Neti. Several scientists suggest that the planet Myrkr - the homeworld of the Force-sensitive Vornskrs and Force-negating Ysalamiri - is the true world of origin of the Neti. Although Master Ood Bnar himself was native to Ryyk, it is possible that the Neti moved from Myrkr to Ryyk at some point in the ancient past. Despite the best efforts of Jedi scholars, the galaxy at large might never determine the true origin of the Neti species.
As plants, Neti have no need for food. They have a greatly reduced need for water as long as they have regular access to broad-spectrum light. A Neti needs only one-tenth the water of most other species, but if deprived of sunlight, it starves, much as other races fo when lacking food. A Neti who has studied the Control aspect of the Force can enter a Force trance and survive almost indefinately in an area with natural sunlight and rain.
All Neti are Force-sensitive and learn both the Neti language and Basic from youth.

Nighthunter (Click For Picture)
The Nighthunter is a quadrepedal predator with long claws, powerful fanged jaws, and a tail. Believed to be a mutant offshot of another species, Nighthunters can vary freatly in appearance. Although all Nighthunters have the same basic shape, they can be found in many different colors and forms. Most Nighthunters are hairless, with armored hide covering their bodies. The creature's hide is actually composed of thousands of tiny scales capable of deflecting blaster fire. Most important, Nighthunters have Force Stealth ability, allowing them to sneak up on victims and use their remarkable combat skills. It is not known how or why Nighthunters developed Force abilities.
Although they make excellent scouts and guard animals, Nighthunters are nearly impossible to train. They apparantley cannot be domesticated or controlled. The Old Republic eventually decided to destroy the dangerous breed. Unfortunately, many Nighthunters captured for training managed to escape confinement and find their way onto outboard starships. A heft bounty placed on the creatures' heads attracted many hunters, but few of the beasts were caught. It is believed that some pirate groups arranged for the Nighthunters to settle on a new, largely uninhabited world. Since then, Nighthunters have been rarely seen, but they continue to make occasional appearances into The New Jedi Order era.
A Nighthunter might decide to bond with a sentient creature, treating it as a friend and member of its family. Such bonding generally occurs only when a Nighthunter is young, although some reported cases indicate that a wounded Nighthunter might bond to an individual that tends to its injuries. Such efforts have been known to result in the Nighthunter attacking its would-be savior, so a hopeful rescuer should excercise extreme caution. Force adepts may find themselves targeted by a Nighthunters unusual friendship; fringers and scouts are occasionally chosen as well. Once a Nighthunter has bonded with a sentient creature it considers part of its family, it may grudgingly accept friends and allies of the bonded sentient as well.
Nighthunters mate for life, bearing litters of one or two cubs every year. They are protective of their young, attacking any creature near them that seems even slightly threatening or dangerous. Only a bonded sentient can safely approach or handle a Nighthunter's young. The creatures grow to their full length of 2 meters in two years and most have a life span of fifty years.
Large fangs and powerful claws make Nighthunters dangerous in combat. They normally attack Medium-sized or smaller prey by attempting to grapple. (Nighthunters may also grab smaller opponents.) If a Nighthunter succeeds at grappling, it forces its opponent to the ground. It can then make a bite attack in addition to slashing with its claws. The limited Force abilities of a Nighthunter are normally used to sneak up on prey.

Nudj (Click For Picture)
This iguana-like reptile lives in the roots of trees which grow on the planet Dagobah. They prefer the dark, moist environments of caves as well, and are quite sensitive to the Force and its energy. They are very docile creatures, despite their fearsome appearance.

Orbalisk
Lord Kaan's aborted assault on the Republic left one incompletely trained Sith Lord alive: Darth Bane. To save the Sith from extinction, Bane instituted his most important legacy: the rule of two. After that day, the Sith would consist of a master and an apprentice, "no more, no less." Since Bane's own master had been killed at Ruusan, he journeyed to Dxun, the legendary demon moon of Onderon, to find what knowledge he could at the tomb of Freedon Nadd. Despite his best efforts, Exar Kun did not have sufficient time to strip Freedon Nadd's tomb of all the Sith artifacts and mysteries it contained. As Bane entered the Onderon system, the spirit of his former master, Lord Qordis, appeared to the Sith warrior. The dead man taunted Bane and accused him of cowardice, despite Bane's claim that he acted for the survival of the Sith. Not satisfied with this answer, Qordis used the dark side to knock Bane's ship out of the sky. Darth Bane barely survived the impact by using all the Sith power at his command. Goaded on by Lord Qordis's ghost and that of the mad Sith Lord Kaan, the evil genius who had detonated the suicidal "thought bomb" on Ruusan, Bane hacked his way through the poisonous foliage and razor-backed predators guarding the crypt-and approached his destiny.
Darth Bane found the tomb of Freedon Nadd much as Kun had left it. However, since Kun had destroyed Nadd's spirit on Yavin 4, the entity no longer lurked in its crypt. Bane quickly spotted an ancient Sith Holocron that had eluded Kun's hasty search. As soon as he set foot inside the tomb, he realized he had been tricked. With a wet slurp, two mollusklike creatures dropped from the ceiling onto his body. Bane felt his entire body twist with the most potent pain he'd felt in his life. Trying desperately to remove the parasites, Bane slashed at one with his lightsaber, but the blow bounced off the creature's hard shell. The pain of the poison the creature injected was so great that Bane tried to slice off his own flesh, hoping the creature would come off with it. Instead, the wound healed before Bane's very eyes. The ghostly Dark Lords demanded that Bane ignore the pain from the "orbalisks" (as they called them) and take the Sith holocron. Bane lost himself in the device and learned what the creatures wereand why Qordis and Kaan had tricked him into becoming their host. These hard-shelled parasites injected their host with deadly venom. As a Sith warrior instinctively fights back with the power of the dark side, the creatures welcome that energy and feed off it. Furthermore, the venom they inject into their host - provided he survives - grants the victim enhanced strength, vitality, and accelerated healing, as well as an armored covering that is especially resistant to lightsabers. The orbalisks had lived and died over thousands of generations infused with the dark side residue of Freedon Nadd, and continued to crave that energy.
As the orbalisks bred and hardened quickly, Bane continually fought back against their venom with the strength of the Force. Within a couple of weeks, Bane was almost completely covered head to toe in nearly indestructible bioarmor. The exoskeleton surrounding him consisted of well-fed parasites that thrived on the dark side of the Force. Each day, Bane could feel his strength increase as the orbalisks reproduced and grew strong from his dark side presence. After it dawned on Bane that these parasites were going to grow over his face if he wasn't careful, he placed a helmet frame over his head.
In the wilds of Dxun, orbalisks are kept in check by specialized predators and an incredibly unforgiving environment. Many of Dxun's beasts have developed immunities and even antidotes to resist the parasites. When unable to attach to a living animal, the orbalisks crawl slowly over trees and other forms of plant life, drawing what little sustenance they can. They cannot reproduce or harden their outer shells while sustaining themselves on plants. Like most species that evolved on the moon of Onderon, they have no other natural checks on their reproduction. A single orbalisk would be harmless to anyone but its host, but if a few mated pairs were ever removed from Dxun and escaped into, say, the Coruscant sewage system, the consequences would be dire.

Piscator
This huge, fish-like creature was native to the planet Alluuvia, where it lived in deep caves and tunnels. The piscator was attuned to the Force, and could read an attacker's mind and discover its darkest fears. The piscator, which was almost three meters in length and propelled itself with eight short tentacles, fed on the attacker's fear and grew stronger from it.

Qom Jha (Click For Picture)
This is one of two major factions of the winged creatures native to the caves of Nirauan. Like their brethren the Qom Qae, they resemble meter-tall avians with smooth skin and small heads. They have dark eyes that allow them to see in the dark, and hard talons that allow them to grip the stone of their lairs. The Qom Jha had lighter skin than the Qom Qae, and were slightly larger in size. They have a minor control of the Force, and can use it to telepathically communicate among themselves and with other Force-sensitives. The Qom Jha, however, live in the caves, while the Qom Qae live in the open air. They referred to Luke Skywalker as "Walker of Sky."

However, the Qom Qae live in the open air of the planet, while the Qom Jha inhabit the caves. The adults were quite territorial, but they allowed the young to freely mix with other nestings. This was probably a way for them to gather information about other nestings without violating territorial boundaries. They referred to Luke Skywalker as "Jedi Sky Walker."

Seylott (Click For Picture)
This race of humanoids was native to the jungles of the planet Seylott. By the time of the Clone Wars, Seylott civilization was in steep decline. Many of the natives had lost much of their sentience, and were reduced to a primitive society. The Seylotts were known to be extremely sensitive to the Force, but most modern Seylotts had little control over it. Priests and shamans could control the Force, however, with passing skill. These large beings had pot-bellies supported by short, stout legs. Their long arms were strong and muscular, and their large hands were used to gripping tree limbs. Seylotts lacked an upright neck, and their wide-nosed faces seemed to hang from their shoulders.

Sleen (Click For Picture)
This monitor-like lizard is an omnivorous feeder native to the planet Dagobah. Sleens seek damp, dark environments which are strong with the Force.

Space Wraith (Click For Picture)
Space Wraiths inhabit the space lanes and pose a major threat to small craft pilots wherever these foul creatures are encountered. These creatures exist in a state of smi-reality - it is generally beleived they are more a force than a creature, but they exibit behaviour that lead some to assert that they are simply a unique species with traits that defy classification. On more than one world, Space Wraiths are beleived to be spirits of the dead who wandered too close to the path of evil, or the dark side of the Force, and could not enter the afterlife in peace.
Space Wraiths are shadowy, insubstantial beings that float through space in a state of hibernation until a sentient being comes near them. They often float in groups, and in one known incident a group of Space Wraiths inhabited an entire squadron of TIE Fighter pilots who were returning from a routine mission scouting from a Star Destroyer. Before the plague was ended, nearly 400 technicians, droids, and stormtroopers had been killed.
When a Space Wraith inhabits an intelligent, humanoid creature, it forces the creature to act in ways counter to its normal inclinations. A technician will sabotage machinery; loyal soldiers will kill their squad mates; Force users, who are particularly at risk from a Space Wraith possession, will use the dark side indiscriminately. Of course, the creature's natural cunning is left intact, and it will not be blatant about its actions. It acts as though it had evil intent and does not stop until it can find nothing more to do.
It is not known what drives Space Wraiths to possess other lifeforms, or whether or not they gain sustenance by causing such mayhem. Some beleive that Space Wraiths are a pure manifestation of the dark side of the Force - perhaps even the corrupted living spirits of former Sith or other practitioners of the dark side. Whatever the case may be, Space Wraiths are deadly enemies that can rarely be seen coming.
As an incorporeal creature, the Space Wraith has no physical body. It can be harmed only by other incorporeal creatures, energy weapons, and Force abilities, such as Force Lightning. Even when hit by such attacks, it has a 50% chance of ignoring any damage from a corporeal source (except for Force effects, which ignore this miss chance).
An incorporeal creature can pass through solid objects at will. Its attack passes through all armor, including natural armor. An incorporeal creature moves silently and cannot be heard if it does not wish to be.
A Space Wraith that touches an opponent can attempt to possess him. If it succeeds, the Space Wraith's body vanishes into the oponent's body. The target can try to resist this attack, and if it succeeds then it is immune to that specific Space Wraith's possession ability for one day.
While a creature is possessed, its mind and personality are completely overwritten by the Space Wraith.
A Wraithbound creature can sustain more damage than its host originally could, as it simply does not react to pain and injury as a normal creature would.
A Wraithbound creature also gains darkvision to a range of 20 meters, as well as becoming significantly stronger physically than the original host.

Starweird (Click For Picture)
Encounters with Starweirds occur only in space. Although real, the Starweird has no defined ecological niche, no environmental purpose. It is only encountered in deep space, apparantley existing in a vacuum without injury. They typically attack spacers repairing the damaged hull of a starship or manifest aboard starships travelling through hyperspace.
A Starweird appears as an impossibly tall humanoid, so gaunt as to be nearly skeletal. Its white hair is long and wild, floating around its head even within the artificial gravity of a spaceship. It wears ephemeral rags that hang in strips from its bony arms. Its pale skin can vary in hue, depending on the encounter. Descriptions of its face seem to differ as well, although most who see the desiccated visage often perceive some slight resemblance to their own. A Starweird has an exaggerated mouth full of sharp teeth, and its eyes glow with an eerie sanguine light. Its hands are long and bony, with black-taloned fingers. It does not walk, but rather hovers and flies. It has no known language and never speaks.
A Starweird attacks as soon as it is spotted, unleashing a horrible telepathic scream that echoes even in the vacuum of space. Most individuals cower or run upon hearing the scream, but some reportedly stand their ground despite their terror. The enraged Starweird then attacks foes physically with its claws. Starweirds have a particularly strong hated for Force-users, single-mindedly attacking them while ignoring all other opponents. A Starweird chooses a victim and focuses on it, although how one incurs a Starweird's wrath remains unknown. Victims might be selected at random, or the creature might nourish itself itself on the life force of specific individuals. In any event, when a Starweird dies, it leaves no trace of itself behind.
Some Jedi beleive that Starweirds are physical manifestations of the dark side of the Force, although little evidence supports this claim.
A Starweird can see up to 20 meters in total darkness. Darkvision is black-and-white only, but is otherwise like normal sight.
A Starweirds body is visible but incorporeal. It has a 50% chance to ignore any damage from a corporeal source (such as a vibro weapon, Lightsaber, or blaster). This "miss chance" does not apply to Force-based effects, however. Furthermore, its claw attack completely ignores any armor including natural armor.
An incorporeal creature can enter and pass through solid objects. It can sense the presence of creatures or objects within 1 meters adjacent to its current location while "inside" an object, but when it tries to attack a creature while inside an object, there is a 50% chance that its attack will miss. In order to see farther from the object that it is in and attack normally, the creature must emerge. An incorporeal creature cannot pass through a force field or similar force effect.
An incorporeal creature moves silently and cannot be heard if it does not wish to be.
A Starweird can unleash a telepathic scream as an attack, affecting all living creatures within 20 meters of it. Creatures can try to fight off the effects of the scream, and if they succeed they cannnot be affected by the same Starweird's scream for 24 hours. Because a Starweird's scream is transmitted telepathically, it can be heard even in the vacuum of space.

Stennes Shifter (Click For Picture)
This race of near-humans has the ability to blend into any crowd. They resemble short, pale-skinned humans with sunken eye sockets and no hair. Scientists believe that the Stennes Shifter is a genetic variant of the Stennes race, which first appeared some 5,000 years before the Battle of Yavin. They were discovered by the ancient Jedi Knights, for the Stennes Shifters had a strange kind of Force sensitivity which allowed them to obtain energy from the living Force. The Shifters can even "steal" the living energy from a nearby being, earning them the nickname Force-eaters. Unlike other species which can change their appearance, the Stennes Shifters are the only species who truly used their abilities to the disadvantage of other races. They are xenophobic in nature, partly because of their own inborn prejudices and partly from millennia of persecution by other races. Their homeworld of Stennaros has been bombarded several times since their appearance, in efforts to wipe them out. Unlike other species which can alter their physical appearance, the Stennes Shifters use telepathic manipulation to chage their shape.
