Clones and the Force When it comes to clones, the Force seems to work strangely, each different type of clone having something special about them which I thought I needed to go over. First of all, the clones most people will know about from the films: the Kaminoan clones. The only strange thing that I have about them when it comes to the Force is the fact that, when a Force user tries to sense them in the Force, they can feel their biological age rather than their physical age. That is, they feel as if they are still children when they are fully grown as they are only about 8-12 years old when they look like middle aged humans. This was seen in the novel "Republic Commando: Hard Contact". Secondly, the second most common clones: the Spaarti Cylinder clones. All I really have to say about them is that they feel "strange" in the Force when a Force user senses them. This would be an easy way to detect when someone has been cloned using Spaarti Cylinders, and was seen in the Thrawn Trilogy, as well as the Hand of Thrawn Duology, by Luke Skywalker. Lastly, the clones that are least popular: the Khommite Clones. It would seem that this type of clone is actually produced in a way similar to reproduction as some clones become Force sensitive, as was seen in Dorsk 81, who was the 81st EXACT genetic duplicate of Dorsk. It would appear that this Force sensitivity is then passed onto the next genetic duplicate as well, as Dorsk 82 was also Force sensitive. I find this strange as the face that it appears in one generation and not the last would make it seem like the Force does not follow genetics when choosing who can become Force sensitive, but when it appears in the next generation, it appears it does. But that's all I have to say when it comes to clones. Cybernetics and the Force Because the Force is present in all living things, but not in machines, living beings with cybernetic components suffer from a kind of blockage when calling upon the Force. Each cybernetic component on the persons body will increase the difficulty of them being able to call upon the Force, even in the most simple of tasks. Having cybernetic implants can never reduce someones Force sensitivity to zero, unless they lose all living tissue altogether. How Darth Vader was able to be so strong in the Force even with all his cybernetic implants is a mystery, however. Also, some implants appear to have other effects in the Force, such as Irek's Implants, which will now be explained. The subelectronic computer implanted in Irek Ismaren's brain allows him a unique perspective on computerized devices. He can mentally visualize their programming, and through the Force, he can override it. He uses this ability to control the actions of droids and computers. The implant gives Irek Ismaren the ability to use his Affect Mind skill on droids - an application not normally possible, since droids are not organic beings and therefore not part of the Force. A similar process performed on another individual could allow that person to also use his or her Affect Mind skill in the same fashion - though it would slightly damage their minds in the process of being implanted, causing a small amount of intelligence to be removed form their brain, and may take many months of practice to master. Another interesting fact about cybernetics that are used by Force users is that they will actually increase the likelyhood that the Force user will be swayed by the dark side, and any evil action will draw them further into the dark side if they have cybernetic implants than it would without them. Why this happens is unknown. Droids and the Force While this a very controvertial topic, I would just like to explain that Droids CAN be Force-sensitive, though it is extremely rare, and only 1 Droid has ever been known to be Force-sensitive. I know the regular argument, Droids are not living beings therefore they can not be Force-sensitive....this is wrong, as was demonstrated in the graphic novel "Star Wars Tales 01" with Skippy, The Jedi Droid. It should be noted that Droids can not TRY to become Force-sensitive, it merely happens to them when they become self-aware. This does not include Artificial Intelligence, it merely happens to certain Droids, though very rarely. A Force-sensitive Droid can do anything a regular Force-sensitive being could do, though they will never tire out. They can not have things programmed into them so that they suddenly know Force techniques, they still have to learn them just as any other Force-sensitive being would. The graphic novel says something about Skippy's lubricants being "rife with Midi-Chloroxians, giving him mastery of the Force", note that they are Midi-Chloroxians, and not regular Midi-Chlorians. I would just like to say that there is no contradicting evidence in any film, novel, graphic novel, comic, or TV series that says a Droid can not be Force-sensitive, so I must go along with this graphic novel, and say that they can be Force-sensitive. Mental Disabilities and the Force While Force users can generally sense when danger is near, though they can not always detect exactly what the danger is, if a person with a mental disability attacks them, this sense is completely gone. For some reason the construct of a mentally disabled persons brain causes the danger sense of a Jedi to completely ignore them, so they could be about to stab a Jedi in the back without the regular danger sense from doing anything. This fact is not widely known, though some influential beings will possibley know it, such as the Hutt's. This fact was demonstrated in the novel "The Approaching Storm" for anyone who thinks I'm making this up. Sending Messages Through The Force Though people seem to think that entire messages, or even single words, can be sent through the Force, this is not usually the case. Though it is possible to send images, and feelings through the Force to convey messages, it is not possible to actually speak or send messages through it without being very powerful. The method of sending brief images and feelings will generally get a rough message across, for example sending someone a feeling of extreme happiness along with a brief picture of you and them kissing would convey to someone that you love them, but more complicated messages have a possibility to be misread or confused. An example of this would be telling conveying tactical information of a battlefield, and what you needed done. Though you could send brief images of things you can see, and send feelings possibley of pain accompanying them to say that you shouldn't go there, this may be misread as meaning people are in pain there and you should go and help them. However, it has been noted that there are a few beings who are extremely powerful having practised sending entire messages, and being successful. The only recorded instance of this is when Joruus C'baoth sent Luke Skywalker a message in the Thrawn Trilogy. It can be assumed that the secret of how to do it was lost with his death. Ssi-Ruuvi Entechment and the Force The aliens known as Ssi-Ruuk rely on a horrifying power-conversion process known as entechment, through which a being’s life energy and Force essence are drained to supply energy that is used for powering technological devices. Each victim is captured and strapped into an entechment chair, where an entechment rig is strapped into place. A magnetic solution, or magsol, is injected into the subject’s carotid artery. The catchment arc applies an intense magnetic field that charges the magsol and drains all the victim’s life energy (and Force essence) in an excrutiatingly painful procedure that kills the subject. The life energy is stored in battery coils, then charged into Ssi-Ruuvi Paddle Beamers, Battle Droids, and other devices. The Ssi-Ruuk originally developed this technology for use on a species of small reptilians known as P’w’ecks but soon discovered that humans provide a superior quantity of entechment energy. However, an echo of the human’s memory accompanies the electricity into the catchment arc. This echo perceives itself as being conscious and often suffers psychosis by the entechment process. This reduces the life energy’s sustainable period to a span of only a few days. The Ssi-Ruuk solved this problem when they captured and brainwashed a young human named Dev Sibwarra, who quickly demonstrated an ability – a manifestation of the Force – to soothe entechment subjects so that their life energies wouldn’t degrade as quickly. When the Ssi-Ruuk attacked Bakura, Dev detected Luke Skywalker and theorized that Luke’s Jedi abilities would allow him to entech subjects from vast distances. In anticipation of Luke’s capture, the Ssi-Ruuk built a special reclining entechment bed equipped with locking arm and leg bands. Twin tubes would puncture the victim’s throat and pump magsol and nutrients into his or her bloodstream, orienting the victim’s nervous system toward the bed’s catchment circuitry. The nutrient stream would allow the Ssi-Ruuk to leave the subject in the entechment bed for several days. To limit the subject’s resistance, an upper spine beamer could numb his or her body for up to two hours and thirty-five minutes. Finally, the Ssi-Ruuk developed a mind-control drug that would force a Jedi to entech subjects against his or her will in a process that’s incredibly painful for both the Jedi and the entechment victim. This bed was tested on Dev Sibwarra, who enteched a subject kept a few meters away from him. It was believed that Luke’s Jedi abilities would allow him to entech subjects from up to thousands of kilometres away. The Ssi-Ruuk captured Luke and began preparing for their ambitious scheme, but Dev overcame the Ssi-Ruuvi brainwashing. Together, he and Luke escaped, forcing the aliens to evacuate their flagship and retreat in defeat. Years later, through unknown means, a company simply known as ODT acquired both the means of creating Human Replica Droids (HRD’s), and also the Ssi-Ruuvi Entechment technology. Through combining the two, they found that they could in fact transfer a beings life energy and Force essence into the HRD’s, and the being would retain themselves in a near indestructible body. They were particularly interested in what would happen if they transferred a Force-user’s essence into a HRD, as they theorized that the Force-user would in fact retain their full ability to use the Force, thus creating an immortal Force-user. Ssi-Ruuvi Paddle Beamers and Lightsabers Unlike blaster bolts, the ion beam fired from a Paddle Beamer cannot be deflected by a Lightsaber's blade. After considerable experimentation, Luke Skywalker learned how to alter his Lightsaber's frequency to deflect a Ssi-Ruuk ion beam, although this temporarily eliminated his ability to deflect blaster bolts. This would take considerable time, perhaps hours, to perform this change each way, though it is possible that a simple modification switch could be added to a Lightsaber which did it automatically and would only take seconds. Using the Force while flying a Starfighter The Jedi Knights of the Old Republic, in their last years, had developed a way to actually use the Force to enhance your Starfighter when you were in battle. These powers could only be performed while in small Starfighters (such as the Jedi's Delta-7's, which were designed for this purpose), and it is theorized that the maximum size for using these powers would be a Starfighter of about 9 meters. These Force powers are extremely useful, but just like the Force, using them correctly takes time and skill ro perfect. To use these powers, the Jedi channeled the Force into the Starfighter itself, which often appeared as coloured particles coalescing around the Starfighter itself, the longer they channeled the Force in this way, the more powerful the Force power became, although eventually it would become too powerful and just spread out into the air. There are only four powers which the Jedi ever mastered using in their Delta-7's, though it's theorized that they can perform more. These powers will now be explained. Force Shield: When activated, an energy barrier is created around the Jedi starfighter to deflect laser blasts for a short amount of time. Depending upon the power of this, the shots are either deflected randomly, or deflected back at the attacker. Force Lightning: When summoned, this zaps the enemy ship's power and can render the pilot unconcious or even destroy the craft. This power can damage either just the targeted craft, or the target and any surrounding enemies depending upon the power put into it. Force Reflex: This power simulates the incredible reflexes and perception of a Jedi Master. It puts the rest of the world in slow motion while you maintain some ability to act normally. This power slows down anything within a kilometer radius from your Starfighter, including your own Starfighter, but lets you still turn and fire as if you were travelling at a normal speed. The amount of time this power can be kept up depends upon how much Force power was put into it. Force Shock Wave: A shock wave radiates in all directions and causes damage to surrounding enemies. This Force power takes more mental energy than any other power. The shock wave is larger the more power you put into it. Wookiees and the Dark Side Wookiee Force-users are not drawn into the dark side for following their natural tendencies and using Wookiee rage. They are drawn into the dark side, however, if they incorporate Wookiee rage with any of their Force skills. In addition, while in Wookiee rage, a Wookiee Force-user can’t call upon the Force except for calling on the dark side. All other uses of the Force require more calm and peace than the Wookiee can manage while in their natural frenzy. |
